Well, I have started a new chapter in my computing life - Macintosh. As I have been trying to do increasingly more photo and video editing, I have been convinced by those in the know that Mac's are best suited for content creation. So, after chatting with my friend Patrick, I took the plunge and purchased a gently used Macbook.
So far, 2 days in, I am enjoying it and think that I made a good choice. Since I am using it in my spare time, I have only migrated my iTunes over, installed Picasa and some Canon software, and I have started to explore the differences from Windows. I have also installed a 3 month trial of Lotus Notes Client 8.5 for Mac, which is pretty much the same as it is in Windows. I am thinking of asking our IT Department to add it to our Domain and get me a Office 2008 for Mac license so that I can use the Mac more and get used to it.
So far, everything has been swimmingly simple to use and I can see why the "Mac Evangelists" like these so much. Perhaps my time with the iPod Touch has broken my Windows bias or perhaps it is just my tiring of all the Windows quirks - either way I am enjoying this new chapter so far.
I'll let you know how it goes. If any Mac aficionados have suggestions, I'd welcome them.
