Today was long, but I am glad that I am here. Today it hit 106 with a heat index of 116, but as I write it has dropped to a reasonable 85 on the way to tonight's low of 82. I am in an Army tent with 9 other members of the Jamboree religious community (5 Islamics, 1 Greek Orthodox, another Salvationist - Lt. Col. Joe Bassett - and 2 that I haven't me yet). Besides traveling from San Diego, I spent the balance of the day checking in, setting up my sleep area and getting some final exhibit supplies. Tomorrow, Col. Joe and I will set up our exhibit (fairly simple compared to the others around us) and finish getting settled in. Once I have the booth set up, I'll post some pics for all to see.
