#Jamboree Experiences and Happenings

The last couple of days have been jam packed with activity. Some of the most exciting things have been the Saturday Arena Show and the patch trading I have been doing. I was privileged to meet the Richmond Area Command officers - Capt.'s David & Dawn Worthy - as they were brought to the Jamboree as VIP guests. Their presence was due to the work of a volunteer at the Good Turn for America booth who has coordinated the delivery of 2,500 excess lunches a day to Richmond. For those that are unaware, Good Turn for America is an initiative of the BSA in collaboration with The Salvation Army and several other organizations to motivate Scouts to conduct specific service projects. Our involvement began when Commissioner Todd Bassett signed a Memorandum of Understanding several years ago. So much is happening that my head is spinning and I will have to take some time when I get home to write up a summary. Tomorrow afternoon we will be taking down our booth and packing up to head home. I can't wait to see Phyllis and the boys Thursday night!
