The Power of Teamwork

Today, I was reminded of the power of teamwork and collaboration. When a group of like minded, mission focused team members are together the ideas fly and the energy is infectious. Additionally, I was reminded that I don't know everything and I am not the only source of good ideas. Philippians 2:5-8 says "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross." In verses 12-16 Paul continues by stating "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain."

I have to ask myself, how often am I humble and how often do I let my pride get the better of me? It seems that more often than not, I err on the side of pride. Each day I need to work on my pride by surrendering to the will of God and remembering that the Lord of Lord's Himself humbled Himself and became a man so that I could have a restored relationship with God the Father! If that's not an eye-opener, then I don't know what else is.

Maybe you have the same struggle I do. If so, I pray that God helps you in the same way I want Him to help me.
