San Diego Citadel Corps

Today our family spent our Worship time at the San Diego Citadel Corps with Major Gwyn and Capt. AnnMarguerite Jones. We were blessed by the ministry of the band and songsters, but today a drama by the youth of the Corps struck the deepest chord with me. The Stool clearly showed the struggle that we humans have in letting Jesus have control of our lives. I was able to empathize 100% with the challenge of staying focused on Christ when the world comes knocking.

Using Nehemiah 11:1-6 as the text for the message, the Major used the Israelites who were chosen to move away from their home towns to live in rebuilt Jerusalem to illustrate how God pushes us to move out of our comfort zones. Combined with the challenge to let Jesus occupy The Stool of my life, I was challenged to rethink my daily activity to ensure I am following God and not my own plan.

Perhaps we should all take a moment to pause and examine who is on The Stool.

Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." James 4:15 NIV
